CDM Co-ordination overview

Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.

What is a CDM Coordinator and do I need one?

A CDM co-ordinator is usually required where a building project exceeds 28days in duration (with the exception of working in owner/ occupier residentail houses).  It is responsiblity of the person undertaking the building works to appoint a CDM Coordinator.

If you are undertaking a building project and need any further advice please call us for a no obligation chat on 01273 386775 or email info@lhsurveying.co.uk

The main duties of the CDM Coordinator are to:

  • advise and assist the client with their duties;
  • Notify the HSE of the project;
  • co-ordinate health and safety aspects of design work and co-operate with others involved with the project;
  • facilitate good communication between the client, designers and contractors;
  • liaise with the principal contractor regarding ongoing design work;
